So I was out and about with a friend today and saw a girl sitting at a table braiding friendship bracelets. :D Made me remember what it was like being a kid. So....



Project #3: Design a garment that is inspired by friendship bracelets! (Courtney’s Choice)

Project #2:  These hats by Phillip Treacy are such a statement I had a hard time imagining what would be worn with them other than a simple black dress. With this hat specifically I knew I wanted to set off the structured, stiff feel with something soft. I don't know if my dress could really be worn with the hat but this is what came from my pencil as I was thinking about it. :D
I pictured the bodice in a velvet with the pale grey chiffon draping across the body. I thought the piece on the skirt gave it more movement. I'm kind of picturing the skirt in a very matte satin but I think it's one of those things where I would need to see the fabrics together before I decided for sure.

Here is my inspiration from the carousel photo. I really want to make this. Picking out the prettiest horse on the merry-go-round  was always one of my favorite things as a child. I chose pale pinks and lavender for the piece paired with a pale salmon color. It is a corset with a structured diagonal piece across the right side. Fabric flowers, attached shorts with pockets and an exposed zipper complete the look. :D And who wouldn't wear this outfit with striped leggings? ;)
